What time is the eclipse today

At about 5 pm this evening, people all over the world began to witness a rare celestial event - the eclipse of the sun, which occurs when the moon passes between the earth and the sun.

Those who stand directly in the moonlight on earth today can see the disk of the moon moving slowly in front of the sun until it is completely covered, leaving only a burning ring of light around the edge.

Those who are not in the right place to witness the total eclipse may still see a partial eclipse. The sky darkens and the temperature drops as the moon obscures part of the sun from the landscape.

Solar eclipse does not come along every day, so people are conceptually excited about watching it happen - with some long distance travel to be in the perfect place to watch
